Good morning all:

I'm looking to remove the stand-up fiberglass shower that is currently in my master bathroom. I'm planning on installing tile in its place. Can you guys recommend a GC in the Baton Rouge area that would do solid work at a fair price?

I'd attempt to do this work myself, but I don't really have the time these days...

TIA

By all means, hire a GC if you don't mind paying 30% more for him to do what you could do just as easily. You are looking at two trades max to hire. Don't need GC for that.

Sounds like you need to call her Pepe today at Re-Bath, or just go to your local Home Depot

tony Thibodeaux. He's not a GC, but I am and wouldn't use anyone else for a tile shower. They aren't hard to screw up the pan if you get the wrong guy. 225-362-2732. He also has a tile store.

Got it, thanks a bunch.

Thanks for the responses...I'll consider doing this myself, but I at least want to get a couple of estimates from folks that have experience with this type of work before making any moves.

Any of you that are recommending folks have any pics you can share of the after part of the work?

My in-laws swear by the person that did their work but to be honest, I was very unimpressed with the bathroom. Especially the tiling job, which is exactly what I'd be most worried about for a job like this.

TIA

If any of them want to use concrete board for a tile backer and not a membrane system, move on...

Is that Joey? If so he's done some work for me before and everything turned out fine.

Yes, I believe its Joey. The GC hired him.

Not sure on the cost. I'm purchasing the house once complete.
