There has to be a "hack" that does not involve a chisel and mixing mortar.

It is only one stone. The pool is older so the grout will never match. And I will be doing it so the skill level is poor.

There has to be some type of adhesive that will stick? Some bonding compound?

It is the top stone not the stone that is in the water.

No.

It is chlorine. Not SWG.

And it is not the stone itself that is failing it is the grout/mortar.

It is the one stone I can see people have planted their foot on to jump off, and pulled themselves up (it is near a deep end exit) since 1985.

Thank you. Do you or anyone have firsthand use of this product for this purpose?

I'm willing to use the whole tube for one stone.

We had the same problem and my husband fixed it with "Pool Patch" from Home Depot. But, it only comes in white at Home Depot. Here is the link to it at Home Depot LINK

Edit: OK...I just googled it and it also comes in Gray on their website. Here is that link LINK

it works...just wipe up what you don't want or you'll have to use a hammer and chisel to get it up...

I have not. Don't have a pool. I have used the various Liquid Nails products and they have all preformed well. If it doesn't work your out less than $5 and try something else. I wouldn't grout until your sure it's stuck down good.

True. 5 bucks is appealing.

My intent is to avoid grout. I want something that just re-seats it. The spot that gave out is under the overhang of the flagstone. I can screw it up and it still would require someone treading water against the wall to see it.
