Arcade had the writing on the wall after they downsized it from the bowling alley renovation.

What was left was very outdated.

But the pool tables.....that is just wrong.

It just isn't college without pool tables.

Isn't the barber shop gone too? Dad (and pretty much all the old-school male faculty) used to get his hair cut there regularly.

When did they start calling it the Student Union in stead of just Union?

Next they'll be making room for "safe spaces."

Current students still call it the Union. Only people I've ever hear call it the Student Union are old fricks.

I don't think the OP envisioned the turn that this thread would take.

Well to be fair, the thread OP was pretty stupid

We just nicely answered the question, gave very little crap for it, and moved it to something a little more worth while.

I mean seriously, entertainment amentities in a building catering to 18+ year olds for a three year old? Even if the old school arcade were still there, half of them were bloody/"scary," and the other half I have trouble picturing a 3 year old handling the controls even if she had a platform to stand on.

You should still go to check it out. You won't recognize the place.

I read that The Union Barber Shop closed effective Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

There was a Reveille article about it.

You usedbto be able to get shite done at the Union. Get cash out of the wall of money, get a haircut for the weekend, waste time playing pool and in the arcade, then going mail a letter or two in the post office.

Is the post office still there?

In the halcyon days of '05 my friend and I used to skip our 1:30 biology 1001 class to go bowling in the union. And play the Star Wars pinball game.

shite that is news to me.

And it pisses me off at the fact that the first words post resignation were that maybe now they can get something in there that can cater to more than just the male demographic.

So he was probably encouraged to leave and didn't want to deal with the PC bullshite.

They blamed it on the state budget cuts.
