I'm really concerned we're at risk of losing our culture

You're worried that New Orleans is going to lose its culture? Not a snowball's chance in hell. Next thread please.

They haven't started murdering yet, but why risk it?

That's the Luthern Church convention. They come to New Orleans occasionally. Nice kids. They spend money too. When i used to have a store in the Riverwalk I would make bank when they were in town. A very upbeat group.

When are they leaving? They've been here going on 6 days now?
Also where the frick do they go? The dome?
I live and work in the CBD and I see a pretty much perpetual movement of huge groups of people moving up and down seemingly every street.
Looks like they're having a good time so I'm glad they are enjoying themselves.
However, I did see a huge group of them lining up for Mother's. Literally from the door at mother at Magazine all the way down the block to the corner of camp. Like they people waiting down at the corner of camp would probably have to wait over 3 hours for Mothers. Poor suckers....

No more Prairie Home Companion. They need something to do.

Tell them to stay on the main streets and their trip should be ok.

Glad they are patronizing NOLA but why in the hell would a YOUTH RELIGIOUS convention choose the home of booze and strippers?

I drove by yesterday around 7 and there was a group of probably 60 of them waiting outside and I assume others from the group were sitting at every table in the place

Goddam Lutherans. (grumble, grumble, grumble)
Stayed at the Roosevelt last night, they were all out on the streets until late with their squeaky clean youthnesses. I saw one walk into a lamp post as she was distracted and staring at her phone.
Not many potential lookers amongst them, what scoping of the females I did. "Good" girls are not always the best looking girls.

Please don't use the word "our," I would rather not be associated with idiots

There is something like 25,000 Luthern youth in town for a convention. They have events at the Dome and the MCC but honestly a lot of what they do is community service.
We have 150 of them this week in Chalmette rebuilding one of our playgrounds.
They are staying everywhere. Last Saturday night we were downtown and most major intersections on Poydras had police helping them cross.

wow. definitely worried about some religious kids running around town. How will I survive, not having to fear for my life around them?

It's summer, their homes on the plains are filling up with dust. They are settling here until the recession is over.
