Been using this swiffer crap and it just isn't cutting it in the new house. Need an actual mop or steam mop, any recommendations?

I just bought this and haven't had a chance to use it yet. (OT Answer: Sorry, my maid hasn't used it yet.)

if you have been using a swifer on your laminate wood you have already ruined the finish the chemicals in those things are harsh try a bona cleaner with a microfiber cloth mop.

Laminate has multi layers so a few mistakes won't hurt. You got more.
We have a hahn. It's ok but the maid ends up using mop and bucket.

You are a king for trouble if you use a steamer on laminate. laminate is very fickle. It doesn't scratch or dent easily, but water is its arch enemy.

The swifter works ok for light cleanup, but I have gone back to regular mop and bucket for the big stuff...had a steam mop too and it didn't do much at all...

I wouldn't thint it would hurt old pine. Most old pine is 3/4 - 1 inch thick. The problem with laminate is the back side is glued press board. It will swell and u have a mess. Mop rarely with a hop mop that is basically rang dry. Swiffer and spray dry mop is the day to day.
