re: States consider moving beyond medical marijuana

quote:

My only question is how will it be regulated?
I believe it will be treated as alcohol, ie no one over 21 can purchase, cant smoke out in public, cannot operate under the influence, etc.

Of course there are differences, but you get the idea

None of the dispensaries around me have been busted.

you want to fix the defecit....legalize and tax...

that goes for prostitution as well...and i think you could put a crimp in a lot of the sex trafficing as well.....

how will this be determined though? There has to be an objective, reliable way of testing before it is legalized.

have you ever seen someone stoned before?

I'm assuming if a cop pulls you over for driving erratically, smells reefer and sees your eyes bloodshot, he'll have probable cause to get a urine sample.

re: States consider moving beyond medical marijuana

Don't know why that would be an issue considering you can deny taking a breathalyzer.

But there still IS a breathalyzer to deny taking. Not everyone denies taking it.

Deny giving a blood or hair test. They can determine with a great amount of certainty when it was last in your system.

well sure...but the reliability of that will vary from cop to cop. And not everyone smoking pot fits the description of half baked. Hell I have friends who work in white collar jobs who smoke on their lunch break, but you really wouldn't be able to tell in the manner you stated.

Well I assume it will be something similar to what they do now with people busted for operating impaired while on prescription meds and the like.

Basic motor skill testing?

my cousin owns a dispensary in CO and is raking it in right now. If this passes, I can only imagine how much better business is going to get

it's insane how much business he was telling me they had. About to open up a few more warehouses too. the money is there

So cops are going to just start administering blood/hair tests on the side of the road? And people bitch about cops now.

reliability of what? the test? or determining probable cause?

and I know people who drink on their lunch break, so?

The point is, it is legal to consume a certain amount of alcohol and still operate a car. I'm just assuming it will be the same with pot

then do reaction time tests, ala a field sobriety test. It's not that hard.

I honestly have no idea. That's why I brought this up. I have no problem with weed being legalized. Just pointing out that its not going to be as simple as people voting for it.

that's exactly how simple it is. it's up for vote, if it passes, it's legal

I'm sure the regulation of it is addressed in the proposal.

have you read the law?

if not, I'd be willing to wager that the issues you keep bringing up are addressed

Right but there is a valid way of testing said amount of alcohol. What constitutes that threshold for weed?

I can't tell if you're trolling
