Anybody got any inside info on this? If true, any chance in hell I'd send one of my kids to public school just got shot down.

Two Louisiana teachers were arrested — for allegedly bullying students! The mother of an 11-year-old student at Washington Elementary School contacted the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office to file a complaint about a teacher bullying her child. The mother identified the teacher as Ann Marie Shelvin. Law enforcement officials investigating the complaint found Shelvin reportedly intimidated and interfered in the operation of the school with three of her other students by threatening to fail them if they would not fight with one of their classmates! They also said Shelvin also reportedly told the child being bullied to “go and kill yourself!” Detectives interviewed a student involved in the incident, who reportedly said she was forced by Shelvin to bully the 11-year-old to purposely start a fight with her classmates, which resulted in several students being sent to the principal’s office. The student was also told if she wouldn’t fight the 11-year-old child, Shelvin would refuse to help her with her work. The student claimed she was scared she would fail her grade if she didn’t comply. Shelvin was escorted off school property and another teacher, identified as Tracy Gallow, took over the class. The mother reported to officials that Gallow began to pull, push, and yell at her daughter because the girl reportedly told the school principal that Shelvin was making her and two of her other friends fight the 11-year-old child because Shelvin did not like her or her mother! Surveillance footage from the school showed Gallow, on two occasions, push the student onto bleachers in the school gymnasium to prevent her from leaving. Gallow later admitted to pushing the student because she felt she was too upset to start her testing! “Students should not have to attend school and be bullied, especially by teachers that are there for their education, guidance, and safety,” said St. Landry Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. “The parents did the right thing. They reported it to the school board and continued to monitor and talk to their children. The bullying continued and they took the next step by contacting law enforcement again.”

It's not just LA, but it damn sure seems to be more prominent there than just about anywhere else.

Both of those women would get equal lefts to go with their equal rights if they bullied my (non-existent) children

I don't disagreee, but it depends on where you are. Paying for school isn't worth it in certain areas of a few parishes in Louisiana. There are some sociopathic, abusive teachers in private school too.

And people wonder why homeschooling numbers are surging like never before.

I get this too, but many parents can't or shouldn't homeschool.
