St Augustine SOD
It has been 4 weeks since I laid some St. Aug Sod at my new house. Is it time to go ahead and mow it on 3.5 inches? Any one who has any experience with St Aug Sod and can give advice I would be very appreciative. Thanks.

re: St Augustine SOD
You should be ok.....get you some soil activator and spray on it if you can, will help it to root. Also water as much as possible

He's trolling you man, what you need is bleach and dog urine. That'll really help your grass take off. Either way don't fall for those guys trying to ruin your stuff above.

You can do it at any time....acts like if you were aerating a regular lawn. Works to break down the clay/dirt in the sod. If you can get in your area this works great...if not just ask at a local nursery.

Once it gets going, start following this fertilization schedule and you'll be amazed at how nice your lawn looks.

Solid advice here. I would use only store brand bleach. No need for name brand here it is all the same.

I would say the timing is ok, but I wouldn't cut off too much at a time....that is, if your grass is pretty tall, I might make one pass at 4 or 4.5 inches and then drop to 3.5 next mowing....
