Spinoff Thread: The reputation of Deke at LSU

Are the prestigious Alumni and mostly made up stories about Deke during the 60's, 70's, and 80's the only thing that really keeps the Deke reputation relevant at LSU this day and age?
While I was at LSU, Deke never did anything more outlandish than any other fraternity. I know many people in it and their stories were never crazier than anyone elses. in the past couple decades there hasnt been any new "rumors" about the crazy Deke's at LSU.

Most frat stories are made up for attention and to get people to think they are cool.

They're good at keeping things secret, which is definitely a lost art.

I hear they have a secret basement that they keep the goat in and make the pledges visit it once per day. The goat also guards the secret tunnel to tiger stadium and only lets you pass if you pleasure it.

I was at LSU in the late 2000's. Dekes never did anything that was "crazier" than any other fraternity.

When I was at LSU the Deke's were the sole reason LSU won 2 MNC's

I love how every college has at least one fraternity that claims Animal House was based on theirs, especially when a quick Google search will reveal where the writers went to college and what fraternity they were in and based the movie on

Stuff from the 90s I know of:
There's a gumbo yearbook pic sometime in the mid 90s where they are all on the front porch and one dude has his junk slap out.
There was also the ostrich incident where they choked one trying to ride it when they broke into the research area at the south gates.
They also damged 10s of thousands of dollars worth of farm equipment at a pledges family's farm on a pledge retreat.

They used to have some prominent alums years and years ago, such as Russell Long. The only one I know of currently who has amounted to much is the DA in Webster Parish.
