Speeding Ticket Via Camera

Got a ticket in the mail from the town of Gretna for speeding. 45 in a 35. Camera got me. Should I pay it?

frick those assholes. If it's the one on the service road, they lowered the speed limit in that one block where they put the camera. I told that red light camera company in AZ to get screwed. Every time they sent me a demand letter, I would write on it and mail it back. They quit sending them.

If it was addressed from the city of nola they'll boot your car if they see it parked somewhere in nola.
Otherwise, don't pay it. Nothing will happen. I've done this for two camera tickets. Neither went on my credit report or record and nothing happened to me. Renewed my license since then too .

Got one in Nola... Never paid. After the third letter in the mail, I sent them a letter saying the person was deceased. Never got another letter.

Google speed cameras in chicago. They're setup everywhere around parks and schools. Rahm Emanuel budgeted 100mil for revenue from the cameras. Revenue was only 25m. People learn not to speed where the cameras are setup. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

The Gretna tickets are administered by the Gretna Police Dept. So I believe they are treated different than the bullshite ones issued in nola.

Yeah, but they'll come up with some kind of bullshite way to make them more profitable...lower the limit, start looking for rolling stops, swerving, etc.

I've gotten one before. I went through the intersection and a bunch of camera flashbulbs blew up around me. Got a letter in the mail a few weeks later with the pic of my car and me in the driver's seat. It was only $25 and I didn't know if it would affect my insurance or anything, so I simply paid it.
Here's an interesting 2 minute VID on some guys vision of a Speed Camera Lottery. Speeders would get ticketed while random non speeders would have their pic taken and sent some of the money collected to reward random safe drivers. I love the concept.

Make them prove you were driving your car. Worked here in Houston so much they ended up removing the cameras. And cameras are a huge money maker for cities.

Real tickets issued by a deputy who didn't even witness me allegedly speeding? I want to send a letter requesting all records and maintenance related to that camera. As with any technology, who's to say it didn't malfunction that day?
