So I got one of these SOBs in the mail but unlike the ones I have gotten when I lived in Laff which were from a company this one is from the city itself.

Do these have to be paid? I never paid any from Laff because all they could do was threaten to send you to collections. Are these the same or will these actually go on your driving record?

TIA

Camera tickets don't go on driving record

Only if you want to avoid coming back to your parked car and finding an orange boot on the tire on your next visit to NewO

thye won't go on your record. You can be booted if you owe over $200 in fines and ark on a city street. A new license plate clears the fines.

The ticket is 110, does it go up if you dont pay by the due date or does it stay the original price unless you get another ticket?

What's new to me is that the ticket is from the city. Maybe they're doing speeding tickets differently than red light tickets.

My rolling right turn on red ticket came from some outfit in Arizona.

Have a few unpaid tickets in Nola, but I park in a private garage in the CBD. Mitch the bitch can eat a dick. And I carry a fully charged cordless dewalt cut off wheel in my truck.

Solid way to get charged with felony criminal damage to property.

NOPD now has cars parked on the side of the road in Orleans Parish taking photos of speeders and issuing tickets. These are different from the camera tickets from the company in Arizona. Not sure if they still use the same civil procedure vs traffic court for these tickets or not.

Not a lawyer but wouldn't they have to find the boot?

This.

In most cities, when you get a photo camera ticket, you can throw it in the trash and nothing will happen.. in NOLA, when you get one-- your insurance will never go up no matter how many photo tickets you recieve, and you'll never go to jail.. but your car WILL get booted , so you'll wind up paying them either way.. the tickets are administered by a company in AZ, who gets half the profit; the city of New Orleans gets the other half... unfortunately i'v had too much experience with these things.. within 6 months of moving back to NOLA last yr, i accumulated probably a dozen of them... prior to that, i had a clean driving record-- so you tell me, did i all of a sudden become a shitty driver? Or is the city full of crap??

BTW 3 of the photo tickets i recieved were for going 24 in a 20, in a school zone-- on a SUNDAY when not a soul is in school... and yet some ppl still try to defend these photo cameras... what a friggin scam.

And a new license plate only costs about $40.

The last camera tickets I've gotten were sent from City of New Orleans but the mailing address is a PO box in either Scottsdale, AZ or Cincinnati, OH (private contractor mailing address).

Those cars are still operated and processed by the same company who operates the fixed cameras.

Those aren't NOPD cars. They are owned by the company in AZ and painted to look like NOPD cars. Check the license plates -- they are commercial plates, not public. If you run the plates you'll see the vehicles are owned by the third-party company and not any government entity.
