Avoid Spartanburg. Go to Greenville.

Greenville is next door and is a much more interesting town.

There are some decent towns in the county but the city itself isn't that great

I think if you like Clempson fans up your arse all the time, go for it.
Seriously though, even tho what I said above is the truth, I'd suggest Greenville instead. Close enough to Spartanburg to commute but a helluva lot nicer area.

Another vote for Greenville.
Nothing wrong with Spartanburg. It is a fine place to live. I just prefer Greenville.

My X5 diesel was built in Spartanburg. Been a good car. Place is alright in my book.

If you're contemplating moving to Spartanburg County you should live in Landrum, SC. It is one of the prettiest little towns in the state and an easy commute to and from Spartanburg.

Greer is right next door...take a tour of the giant BMW plant and get on their race track...pretty neat.

I'd love to haul'em all down around Spartanburg & show them how to raise hell in Caroline.

I banged a chick from Converse College in Spartanburg in a previous life, FWIW .
She was cute back circa 1986. I wonder if she still looks nice.

I work in Greenville fairly often. GSP is convieant and Greenville is like a mini Savannah. Love it.
Spartanburg stinks.

I grew up in Greenville and moved to Spartanburg for college, lived here ever since. We used to joke and call it Murderburg growing up. It's not as "nice" as Greenville but people are friendlier, way less traffic, and more bang for your buck in housing, especially in Boiling Springs, Duncan areas. Downtown Spartanburg is really improving but is 1/10th of the hassle of downtown Greenville.
I'd rather live here and drive 25 minutes to Greenville. This is coming from someone born and raised in Greenville.
