The Spanish Town parade has ALWAYS been irreverent. That's a big part of it's cache and the floats have always poked fun at the social/political climate of the day. I suspect this message will have the OPPOSITE effect they're looking for

Last year there were several floats with racism, then the alton sterling shooting, and a police officer gets shot. A huge black eye for Baton Rouge. Several pictures of the floats made the national media news.
