Sid,

Looks like a good opportunity to perch jerk from your front porch.

It gets worse (as these things often do).

Friend with an office across from the State Capitol says downtown Columbia faces the lack of running water -- for three to four days.

I get the day off work tomorrow. Looks like we won't be able to cross any rivers.

Yeah I know campus and a lot of the city is without water. I think a lot of downtown still has it though (at least I still do1 block off campus)

I hope people prepared correctly for this and have the necessary supplies to last up to a week.

Lot of Carolina people on the OT. I wasn't aware. Good luck to you guys. As someone who has shoveled about 18" of mud out of 2500 sf house I feel the pain or at least know what you will be faced with after the water is gone. That was some hard, nasty tiring work. Godspeed and stay safe.

How bad is Edisto? Family beach house is just off Dolphin in front of the Baptist church. Any major flooding? There is a creek next to our beach house.

I've still got water in Forest Acres but the pressure is really low. My Uncle up the road does not.

3-4 days without water would be a huge problem so hopefully the increased winds tonight don't knock out power tonight and tomorrow

That area got hit hard? Y'all alright?

None of the 5 hospitals in Columbia area have water apparently ( all connected to the downtown water system). Talking about patient evacs.

Getting crazy.

Yea the area had several dams fail which resulted in the worst infrastructure damage the state had had as of right now.

Fortunately I don't live in the areas affected by the dam breaks and only had a couple inches get in the house last night even thought there was 3-4ft in the backyard.

The announcement to prepare for 3-4 days without water has me worried. We've got water but the pressure is really low and we're still under a boil water advisory.
