someone explain the term "salty" to me

Is it worse than pepper? Does it have to do with salt, instead of sand, in the vag? Does it mean salt in the wound? WTF is happening to this generation where they cant come up with something intelligent to say.

Salty means experienced, it's used a lot in the navy and I'm pretty sure that's where it came from.
An old sailor traveled the "salty seas" and became experienced and knowledgeable. Or "salty"

"Salty" in my vernacular means someone that is tough, gritty, and a no-nonsense type. For instance one of the nurses I work with was a Navy Seal during the post-Vietnam era and he is the definition of salty.
