Bury you head in the sand if you want. That "movement" is based on very unstable logic and is already being hijacked.

I agree that the slogan BLM puts people on the defensive who don't understand the point

People understand the point and they know what happens when BLM protesters come to town. That's why it's widely dismissed as a crock of shite.

I think this is what all grassroots based movements ultimate goal is. I do not agree with their tactics, but I agree with their underlying premise (justice system is racist).

I've read some black lives matter material and it mostly just trashes what they perceive to be institutional racism. Do they ever clearly define the problem or present a solution? Or is it just people making noise?

I have a friend all up in the BLM movement, she wants to eliminate prisons. No shite.

I think that betraying the hard-earned victories of The Civil Rights Movement by engaging in racist and violent public demonstrations and speech is pretty significant. ALL lives matter. That's self-evident and consistent with the best American values, the ones our Nation bled to establish and preserve.

I'd say that has a certain "real value" worth defending. Certainly a lot more value than lazy moral relativism.

No argument

ALL lives matter.

No argument

My only comments have been how when someone says "black lives matter" and you immediately counter with "all lives matter", the perceived intent is to belittle the original statement

To highlight overall policing imbalance between the races along with the shootings that have occurred between unarmed individuals an police.

I have seen a few of those videos and they were flat out execution.

Like the one dude who tried to drive away and got popped in the head.

Also the guy who was running away and got smoked and then they tried to plant the gun.

etc.

I'm not saying these individuals were angels but they didn't need a bullet.

I genuinely don't know and haven't really cared to know until now. I'm not trying to troll - I really am interested in why society believes #BlackLivesMatter isn't racist and #AllLivesMatter is.

Well, if naming your movement "blacklivesmatter" somehow seems that you don't really give a shite about lives of police officers or victims of black crimes.....

....actually that's pretty much exactly the point. It's appropriately named for the mission of the group. It's not misunderstood.

OK so there's the problem, police policies and oversight. Now what's the proposed solution? Third party investigation on police use of force? Body cameras? Greater transparency in internal investigations? More diverse police force that matches the demographics of communities they serve?

I think most people would support all of those. Are any of these solutions acceptable? If so, then they should propose those solutions, instead of making spectacles for the sake of spectacle.

Yes they are

They feel that no one cares about their perceived plight, and use that title in order to seek awareness from the community.

No one gives a shite about other people's lives; they care about their own lives. It's not because of racism, it's because of survival.

Every time one of these BLM "events" happens, what else ALWAYS happens? Looting, burning & killing; that's why the BLM movement is a crock of shite.

When a person of color boos someone that says Alllivesmatter, who's really the racist?

This is why BLM is dismissed by most people. There's no clear solution, there's no clear purpose, and it's popularity is based entirely on anger, racism, and prejudice.

It's name undermines the importance of the lives of people who aren't black thugs, and it attracts that kind of supporter. These BLM movements are now associated with racism, violence, looting, and rioting.....because that's who's behind the movement now.

the statement "black lives matter" certainly does not

now some of the messages from the "movement" certainly seem that way

but the name itself does not imply black lives matter more than other lives

Loud Black people are bitter racists, just as is #blacklivesmatter. The white guilt media just refuses to call them out on it. These are undisputable facts.

The base of the BLM movement is racist and prejudice to the core, as it's been hijacked by people who want an excuse to riot, loot, and express their hatred of cops and white people. Those lunatics drown out any positive message and has basically nullified it.

It's absolutely racist to boo that because of the context in which it is often done, the meaning of the "all lives matter" quote, and the dismissal of it.
