if you listen to their premise it can really frick up your world view. which is the point.
Serious question, what is the point?
I got into a spirited conversation with some friends who support the BLM movement, and they couldn't tell me. I kept asking for a defined problem and their proposed solution and they just kept talking in circles about how fricked up the system is.
I've read some black lives matter material and it mostly just trashes what they perceive to be institutional racism. Do they ever clearly define the problem or present a solution? Or is it just people making noise?

There is Racism. We all know what legitimate racism is.
And then there is RACIALISM.
Liberal RACIALISTS believe that anybody who opposes their bizarre race theories or offers a dissenting opinion is part of the racist hierarchy. It's classic Cultural Marxism in substance and style.
Racialists like Black Lives Matter believe that everything is race-related. They see race behind every tree and under every rock. If you question this with a simple common-sense "all lives matter" comment, you are interrupting their narcissistic Liberal Narrative and you must be silenced.
Democrats and Liberals have pandered to this idiocy for so long that they are being shouted down in public forums and eaten by the same monster they created. Liberalism birthed it, nurtured it, and now it's an angry adolescent raging through the culture. It's just another in an endless stream of National Facepalms for America.

people countering with #alllivesmatter are not simply questioning, they are just trying to yell louder and silence the BLM people, and thus vice versa
That's just not true. O'Malley/Bush etc that have commented were strictly making a common sense statement about the value of ALL life. And the Cultural Bullies of The Racialist Left shouted them down and lectured them.
Furthermore, Black Lives Matter rhetoric seems like a clear betrayal of Martin Luther King Jr's admonition that all lives have the same human value, the virtue of each, to be determined not by skin color, but rather by "the content of their character". MLK Jr had it right, BLM has it wrong. So screw em. ALL lives matter. End of story.

over so this stupid, racist BLM bullshite will go away for a few years.
Wait we were told by Liberals that when the confederate flag was banned it cured everything.

Having a discussion about it is not the same as going and standing in front of a court house shouting black lives matter.

That's just not true
like I said, if Obama said #allpeoplethatworkslivesmatter in response to the #bluelivesmatter stuff, you people would lose your shite

it isn't racist, but when someone says "black lives matter" and you immediately counter with "all lives matter", it does belittle the meaning of the point the person was trying to make, no matter how silly you might think it is
I have no idea why people are getting so upset about this on both sides
the #blacklivesmatter shite is over the top, but so is the other side constantly trying to counter
it would be the same as telling a someone that posts #bluelivesmatter that "all people that work lives matter"

Never thought about that.

Maybe if blacklivesmatter got behind the alllivesmatter movement shite might get done. Blm complains that no one listens to them, well you have a group of whitey trying to help out and people seem to listen to them.

So when someone says BLM and you say ALM, you are being dismissive to what they are trying to get across.
The name "black lives matter" is itself dismissive of the importance of the lives of non-blacks and law enforcement.
Like most people, I'm openly dismissive of a movement called "black lives matter" that could give a shite about violence in the black community until a black life is taken by a white person or a cop.....especially when proponents are dismissive of the suggestion that "all lives matter" after another cop is gunned down.
quote:
But BLM was brought up to highlight cops with self esteem and control issues when it came to black people
It's rooted in animosity and anger towards non-blacks and law enforcement.......and in a few months they'll be another race-baiting tool for a politician hoping to win an election next year.

You make glib contrarian comments. But you say nothing that has any wisdom to it. Just saying.

They aren't claiming that only black lives matter. They feel that no one cares about their perceived plight, and use that title in order to seek awareness from the community.
People cared about the church members killed. Why should people care about black criminals fleeing cops being killed, or people arrested 10 times being killed. Those are the type that'll most likely kill or hurt you.
Seems like blacklivesmatter is only for the black criminals or thugs.

Nothing you have stated has any real value either. Just saying.

Pretty sure I saw that guy in a video saying the execution of the cop in Texas means it's open season on whites and that a race war is coming. He said whites are like buffalo and blacks are like lions and the blacks will pick off the whites one by one until victory is achieved

I agree that the slogan BLM puts people on the defensive who don't understand the point. Nobody wants to be left out. But saying you like oranges its not saying you don't like apples.
I think the slogan should have been different. But, too late.

Dude, I'm a white guy from Louisiana in his 30s. 80% of the cops I know are racist.
So don't sell that shite to me.
