I'm still trying to imagine a situation where I would buy anything mechanical that is 15 years old before seeing how the engine/other moving parts work.

I guess if it's a classic car where I only want the body and not the engine. Doesn't sound like the case here.

This is correct.

Sold a motorcycle to a gentleman of middle eastern origin- no warranty as is. All nine of them that piled out of the Maverick took it for a test ride. Went to Hi Nabor- did the paperwork- block away from Hi Nabor 2nd gear went out. Told him he needed to find a transmission mechanic.

Tell him that you would be happy to buy it back for a discount.

Right of rescission has to do with truth in lending and mortgages, not used car sales.

I sold a truck to this dude in Mississippi a while back. Told me he was gonna pay $21.5k for it. I drove up there, he drove the truck around, and we went to his bank and they would only give him $18.5k. I knew the truck was a giant POS, so I let him take it. Transmission ended up going out within 2 weeks and he burned up the engine after he got that fixed. Called me daily asking about shite and wanting his money back. I just told him to take the $3k he screwed me out of and go fix it.

Bottom line is a sale is a sale. Tell the dude to go frick himself and be done with it. It's not your fault he's an idiot

i am as honest as possible when it comes to selling anything used. i definitely state "as is" always and if i knew something was having issues i let it be known.

then again, i treat others as i want to be treated..

you are upset that you didn't get 3k more that you were asking or offered, when it reality you probably weren't going to get 18k for a POS truck to begin with.. especially if honest about it. congrats to you.. and no you didn't need to refund him his money.. but if you knew the transmission was going out i think you should have been more honest.. but hey that's a dying trend these days.. it's his job to inspect the vehicle right? people can't go out of there way to do a service to others..

that's fricked up. but technically yeah you owe him nothing. it was his gamble to begin with. i just have an issue with not informing him of problems you knew about it.. but screw honest people these days.. congrats

It appears that you are WRONG.
Where in the FindLaw page that you linked does it prove your claim?

Better yet...find it here.
