Is Hollywood just short on ideas that they can't find anything better to do than remake classics with black people? I'm sure I'm missing more but the movie Annie was remade, the karate kid with will smiths kid, now this Wiz show is a remake of the Wizard of Oz. Where is the originality? Cmon movie makers - have more imagination - leave the classics alone and go with a new story.

Which if you ask me, that's worse. The new Wiz is a redo of the old Wiz which was a remake of the Wizard of Oz. Good greif.

The remakes you mentioned didn't do very well at the box office. That will put an end to that trend if those movies continue to underperform.

Whoa - not racist but thanks for playing that card again for the millionth time. I'm just pointing out that these remakes of original stories are just poaching on original stories. Why not make new movies? Who wants to watch the same movie with different characters?

Yes, always been black, but the 1975 original "The Wiz" is an urbanized retelling of L. Frank Baum's classic 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the context of modern African-American culture. So the OP was correct, you stupid fricking piece of shite. (jk...I was quoting you. )

And isn't this typical. I noticed you didn't mention the other two movies that didn't fit your accusation of me being racist, which I'm not, but those two movies didn't fit your agenda as well did they? This thread wasn't started as a race thread. It was meant to spark conversation about Hollywood being unoriginal, but go ahead make it about race.

For some reason people on this site love to play sjw race police, even if it's not justified.

Look no further than the trey Quinn threads on the rant.
It really upsets some of those boys over there.

Pretty sure that black dudes are more likely to be in Melissa McCarthy.

That would make for a great satire - a day in the life of two rich white kids
