All because they know how to live on the edge doesn't make them the worst, definitely weird though..

Um...thanks?

My nephew is under the impression that all people from Louisiana are actually just alligators dressed in bayou-ready attire speaking with Cajun accents, but my nephew is also 3 and likely wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume RIGHT THIS MINUTE. In reality, very few alligators in Louisiana speak.

More to the point, we all know the high regard to which we hold the food and drink culture of New Orleans and the rest of Louisiana (thank you for Tabasco, po-boys, and cocktails), but aside from that, the wharves of New Orleans were where craps was invented in the early-19th century, and the term Uncle Sam allegedly started when Louisiana was a US territory, and dockworkers would mark goods from the States with a “U.S.” and say they came from “Uncle Sam.” Also, there’s a 900-ton bronze statue of Shaq dunking on fools at LSU. I’d like to hear what the alligators have to say about that.

Louisiana and Mississippi are definitely worse than Florida.

As a FL resident we do have our fair share of craziness here. There's the deliberate native backwardness found in places like the panhandle and then there's the imported craziness of people moving here from Ohio, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, etc. Not to mention that our moderate climate makes us a destination for vagrants, homeless and unfortunately the mentally ill.

I also remind people that Florida is among the most populous States in the country. I'm not sure that as a percentage we have more craziness than other States; I do think that we hit the headlines more often as we simply have a lot more people.

Let's keep in mind that the population of Greater Miami is larger than the entire State of Louisiana.

Good public education system, no state income tax, progressive cities, beautiful beaches.

I'd say no.

Tampa/St. Pete is a great area to live in. Miami is nice, but too big to live in. Not sure about Jacksonville area. Key West is awesome.

It's really not but you can't fault Floridians for the effort they put into it. They start early and quit late..
