That brought in kids from the poorer neighborhoods. The kids were polite. I have no problem with this. Some of the locals were pissed. What says the ot?

If the kids are polite and in costumes i see no problem.

Problem is the little kids often have their 15-16 yo pos siblings with them with no costumes

If you're dressed up and behaving politely, then why not. These kids live in terrible neighborhoods.

Looked like a church or boys club kinda thing. The kids were all 10 or under and I thought it was well organized. Very thankful and respectful. The older kids walked them up and made them say thanks and yes sir no sir

I've always kind of thought of Halloween as a zero sum game. Basically "I give your kid candy, you give my kid candy". Obviously there are people without children (or young children) who are giving out candy when their kids aren't receiving candy. I don't really care that people are bussing around kids and it never really bothered me when they were dropped off/driven around in my neighborhood growing up. It's just kind of weird.

ETA: Who really cares if it is just a bunch of little kids though? Definitely don't care enough to complain that somebody brings their five year old into the neighborhood to trick-or-treat.

It truly did bother me that people were bitching about it. Personally I found it very refreshing. These kids had fun and that's all that matters in my book

I saw something about it on the nextdoor page for the neighborhood saying to hand out gospel tracts and tootsie rolls so they don't come back

What year do we live in? I'm glad you saw this to back me up but wtf? Trick or treating is for the kids and them being there didn't inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable at any point. If anything it made me happy to see them smile.

Think about it this way. Maybe they will see how people in the neighborhood are living, the family dynamics on a day such as today and will carry a more positive outlook and aspirations in the future.

Maybe letting them in for fricking trick or treating will have a positive impact on their and therefore the entire community well being

I have no problem with it either way. Being mad that an 8 year old is there having a good time is absurd, but screw having a bunch of 15 year olds running around the hood like idiots
