I don't know if he will like it or not but I thought it would be useful for his business...anyone have one? Do you like it?

They seem pointless to me.

Its not hard to just pull my phone out of my pocket

This will be an interesting conflict for the "I have a phone so I don't wear a watch" crowd.

Knowing your dad as well as I do, I think he will hate it.

Mine is usually in my fanny pack. Life is so much easier now that I don't have to unzip.

I'm not a watch person but I may try one out if it was given to me. I know people who run a lot use them like an ipod if you have wireless headphones.

You're a disappointment to your dad. An Apple watch won't fix that.

There's a lot of conflicting emotions.

As others mentioned it doesn't seem to be very practical or necessary in someone's everyday life. People who are big fans of Apple absolutely may get enjoyment out of it, but for the everyday person who has no other attachment, what is the point?

I have one and i like everything about it except the excercise app. If all you do is run then it works fine but if you do anything with lifting weights then it's gonna get a misread on your heart rate.

As far as the messages and alerts coming through on the watch... It's really damn convenient and you wouldn't know it till you try it.

Baby boomers aren't the right generation to gift an Apple Watch to.

Can't use it without lugging your phone with it
Can't make a phone call
Can't text, email or get online without being on wifi

Yeah it's pointless right now. Maybe it will improve in the future but for now it's just something you use so you don't have to take your phone out of your pocket

Come to think about it, I don't think I know one person who owns an Apple Watch. Maybe I do & just never noticed, but I remember reading something awhile back about how sales were not as high as projected.

It'd be easier to look at your watch than have a phone..........

I like mine. It keeps track of all my movements during jazzercise. I can't keep count of all those steps.

This thread is awesome because the same posters who used to jank on "old timers" for wearing watches in the smartphone age are now conflicted about postbragging their new Apple watches.
