Just had 2 sales people stop by the office pushing an NFIB membership. I am aware what NFIB is and what they stand for, however I did not trust these people. They had no business cards or anything and would not even give us a phone number to call if we wanted to join at a later date. The business has 3 partners and I am the only one here. Told them I could not make that decision without consulting them and they just kept pushing for money saying surely there was an amount I was able to spend without consulting them. They said they would come back but had no business card or information to leave us. Also, the minimum/maximum membership rates they were telling me were way higher than I am seeing online.

Anyone have any experience with this or know the true rates. Felt like a scam to me. They guy had on dirty clothes and needed a shower. Maybe I am just paranoid.

NFIB is a good organization. The membership rates are pretty open. I'd negotiate.

Don't pay them.

You will never get rid of them.

Just tell them you are not interested.

I agree and think so as well. I just did not trust these people. They just wanted money after about a 30 seconds presentation. Said minimum was $375

This. I made the mistake a couple of years ago to pay them to join this organization, now they just pop up at my office announced, annoying and then they will call and annoy the hell out of you

I feel that if you take money to represent small businesses from every small business, you fail at supporting any small business. I asked them their track record a couple of years ago, and it was a lot of attempts.

They might be the most annoying people ever.

I have been with them since my partners and I opened up 4 hardware stores. The sales reps don't mean much to me. When I have gone to hardware buyer conventions and met the upper level people I have received help. In my business they have helped me get in touch with the right people to help me on business issues.

Sorry your such a loser you have to sell stereo systems in a parking lot. Maybe you need to start by getting a McJob at McDonald's and move up from there.
