Anyone here use SlingTV? If so, what is your review? I am already aware of what is included in the original package as well as the add-ons. Thanks!

Well maybe someone else would like to know, Herb.

We have had it for about 5 months. It works well and is about what what expect. Nothing exceptional about it except the price.

If you have specific questions ask.

I have it and I like it. 25 dollars a month is better than 150 for cable pkg

Ive been having it for a few months. It can be frustrating at times because it'll lose connection and buffer randomly. But I still think its worth having vs a cable bill

Just be aware that once they reach a certain number of subscribers they are likely to either lose all ESPN content or be forced to pay a much higher amount to have it which in turn will raise what you have to pay.

How fast does your internet connection need to be? Also, can it use wifi? What is roughly your internet dues per month? Thank you!

pretty much where I am at.

My brother and I split Hulu and Netflix accounts.

Local sports is the only thing that gets me. For some reason all of Houston Sports are blacked in Louisiana on NBA and MLB.tv so I am kinda screwed there.

you have a roku or something to go with it? and if so, can you watch shows on the roku (or whatever) apps on demand, or is it live shows only on sling without a separate dvr? we only really watch live tv for sports, and was curious about this. thanks.

The new mlb.tv pricing structure will allow you to pay a little extra and not have local content blacked out.

It's amazing to me how much trouble some people go to, order this, that, plus add this, but you need to subscribe to this and get a friends password if you want sports....just to save a few dollars per month on cable.

wrong board- go to tech board

But I have had it since day one basic + sports 25 a month beats the heck out of the 150 for cable

Roku + Sling + antenna that picks up local stations

We never looked back

25 down will handle it - but if you have a lot of smart phones tablets etc and use wireless I would suggest 50 down

I tried it out because they offer 50% off the Roku 3 with a 3 month subscription. I've been very happy with the service, and haven't experienced any of the buffering/crashing that A LOT of people have reported. Then again, I haven't tried streaming The Walking Dead with Sling yet.

We don't plan on keeping it because we have access to HBOGo, ESPNGo, the Directv App, etc. through a Directv account we pay for at my father's house. Those along with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and an HD antenna provide way more content than we could ever watch anyway.

It's worth a try, especially if you already plan on purchasing one the the devices they offer for free or discounted pricing with a 3 month subscription.

I have it and love it. Sometimes it hangs up on ESPN/ESPN2 when there's a big game on. I just switch over to WatchESPN app and no problems.

Already had Netflix and Amazon Prime. I have an 55" Sony Android tv. Has all the apps on it, and Google Play to download anything else. I cut cable, added Hulu to watch network shows since i can't watch anything live with a 4 and 2 year old in the house and i simply entered my wifes parents cable account info into the WatchESPN app once and now i can watch tv pretty much the same way i was a month ago, except i'm saving about $90/month. I spent $50 on an antenna to catch local channels.

The only trouble i went to was running a cable and ethernet through the wall for the antenna in the attic and the ethernet to the router so i can have the tv wire connected to improve reliability over wifi.

It's really not that difficult to do it. The hardest part is making up your mind to do it. The only thing i don't have now that i did before is a DVR, which i may buy down the road, but not now. And with Hulu, i just wait a week and watch the show then as opposed to watching it live or on my DVR.
