Singapore restaurants and bars

Headed there for work in May. Will be there for 3 weeks, any suggestions on good food or nightlife...or anything else I should take in while I am there? I've been on several websites but each one has different suggestions.

....and yes, I know about the "4 floors of whores"--AKA Orchard Towers.

No help here, but it sounds like you'll have an awesome time...I would hit up the street markets for food if I was going

If you work out, you´ll enjoy the gym. If you run, and can stand the heat and humidity, you´ll lose weight.

Other than that, a week is four days more than enough.

The place is boring, a benign Las Vegas (whores and cheesey intending to be refined bars and nightclubs), and Tijuana (whores).

Sorry, the truth hurts.

Dude you came to the right place. Almost everybody on tiger droppings (myself excluded) has traveled extensively to Southeast Asia and around the world. This board is filled with international businessmen and millionaire playboys.

They get nervous seeing you chew it. Pretty funny, actually.

Get McDonalds.

Go to Sing Harbor area.

Ride gondola across Sing harbor while eating greasy fries and slurping through your straw.

Take many photos of food, gondola ride and you.

Act like a true American tourist.

Hoping to avoid that, but also vying to not cross over into the Andrew Zimmern realm with all the crazy shite he eats. Marina Bay Sands allegedly has a pretty legit casino that's free if you show your passport. Read that they charge Singapore citizens $100 just to walk in the door.

Prepare to be bored. I spent 3 days in Singapore about a month ago and that was plenty.

My Dad's office is in Singapore. I'll ask him tomorrow and should come up with some good places to eat. Where exactly are you staying?

I would spray paint some cars while you are there. It's like their national pastime.

If I were going to live outside the US, it would be Singapore. Seems like a great place

Where are you staying and working?

Clarke Quay has a few restaurants and bars.
Crazy Elephant is a live music club that is pretty good.

Boat Quay has a number of restaurants.

Live Music can be found at a number of places on Duxton Road.

Food:

Boss BBQ at Clarke Quay: Best Korean BBQ that that I have had anywhere in the world.

Seafood: East Coast Seafood center is nice but can be a ride depending on where you staying. Jumbo Seafood is probably your best bet. They are located in many areas.

The Chijmes has a number of pretty good restaurants.

Company is expanding into Asian countries. Our Finance department (e.g. Accounting, Payroll) needs to be setup to support the overall business. Headed there to do just that....
