I'm sure it is. My BIL has to deal with this with his ex-wife.

No one has 1st cousins they never see or met because your parents didnt get along?

Like your father/mother doesnt get along with your aunt/uncle so you never encounter that part of the family.

Is this your family:

Beer unopened, cigarette not lit, no farmer or redneck tan on supposed redneck......

Obviously bored

To op, hardly see my nieces and nephews because I am not a holy roller like my brother claims to be.

I mean I know who they are, but there wasn't a premeditated "not happening!" thought process...

Damn, son... you should see about a reunion and invite Judge Judy and also Dr. Phil to moderate.

Well, I guess most of us aren't from white trash families that threaten each other.

The hated uncle in my family lived right next door to us, and we went on vacation together. Yes, my mom didn't get along with one of her brothers, but grow up and don't be a colossal redneck about it.

no. Even non-trashy families can be complicated.

Ignorance is bliss. Unless one of the uncles/aunts has a drug problem that came out of no where and has multiple kids that he hasn't met, then this doesn't happen to good, classy families. And considering you've said that basically every single sibling in your family is like this, it's a very safe assumption that you and your family are complete trash. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's a fricking duck.

I don't think I've ever met anyone without at least some animosity in their family.
I don't know whether or not to correct you? or to feel bad for you...

It's always been one of those situations, "I can pick on my brother, but you can't"...

I've always got my family's back, even if I know they're wrong...

I'm hoping "animosity" wasn't the right word...?

I actually have an extremely accomplished and educated family. Their ego and pride is what causes the problem.

Trash doesn't necessarily have to be uneducated, although it helps. Any family that can't behave like civil fricking human beings around each other a few times a year is trash. It's one thing if the uncle molested a kid or something, but just over pointless bickering, then it's just trash.
