Shy bladder sufferers want DirecTV to stop airing a television ad where a “painfully awkward” actor Rob Lowe says that he can’t urinate in public.

The satellite TV company suggests its critics should be able to take a joke.

quote:

The ad is in poor taste and ridicules a serious problem, said Steve Soifer, CEO of the International Paruresis Association, which estimates that some 7 percent of Americans have some form of “shy bladder syndrome.”

Any "Shy Bladder" folks on the OT?

I'm in the "The World Is My Toilet" camp myself.

I wish the media would quit giving attention to all of these "I'm offended" groups.

I'm prone to "stage fright" on occasion.

I didn't realize I suffered from an infliction. I wonder if I can get some money.

But Rob Lowe or anyone else has the green light to have fun at the expense of those of us who prefer not to piss in front of an audience.

Why can't people just go about their lives without being offended by everything?

I went to the Dr about my shy bladder problem and he told me I was actually just shy about my tiny penis. Thank God I'm not associated with those freaks.

There is serious psychology to that. Stage fright is a real thing. Those people should also take a joke though.
