Seems to be varying opinions on the subject.

Belt and cigarette hanging out the mouth

if you have to ask, you lift like a bitch

No, let your body build up its core muscles

IMO if you need a belt you are squatting too much weight and more likely to hurt yourself.

Belt gives you false sense of security. It's proven to not do shite.

Keep your legs straight, bend at the waist, and make sure you use only your back to lift.

All the belt does is support your abdominal wall when lifting heavier weights. It can be helpful in preventing hernia but it does nothing to support your back.

I try to avoid using a belt except for my heaviest sets. It's better to build up core strength without one but they are ok when you're really pushing yourself.

I use a belt for my sets of 315 and up, as well as deadlifts and bent over barbell rows.

I don't start using a belt until I approach >75% of my max.

Lift in a quick, jerking, twisting motion.

i think if you squat correctly and you are squatting a ton of weight, its a good idea. if you are wearing one to do quarter reps with, its probably just more of a crutch.

Deep breath, flex your abs, squeeze your butt cheeks so your hips roll forward. (This will keep you from doing what is called butt winking)
The flexing of your abs, deep breath, and tighten of the flutes will keep the pressure off your lower back, as your core will stay tight.
Squat and keep your knees out over your toes.
Bring your hip crease below your knees and then go back up.

Did you just hit us with a headless selfie in a thread about weight lifting belts?

I squat with a belt when I get into my heavy sets which is usually my last 3-4 sets. I also wrap my knees in those sets which is propably worthy of another thread.
