Let me preface this by saying if anyone came into my store (black, white, purple, gay, straight, trans, whatever) and was willing to spend their money with me without causing any disruptions, I would gladly accept their business and let them go on their way.

However, why is it the government's responsibility to tell "free" people in a private business who they have to serve? I understand that fights and disputes would be common place at such businesses, but having that type of atmosphere at your business should be up to the person actually running the business.

Again, I think discrimination is absolutely wrong and a poor business model, but I feel the government should have no say so.

Yes.

If a business doesn't want my money, I won't give it to them.

Concur... this is a society issue, not a government one.

First, the negative connotation of the word is bullshite. Everyone discriminates all the time: friends, job, significant other, books, food.

That said, as you have used it, it should be tolerated and should not be prohibited (which is different that affirmatively endorsing it, which "allowing" implies).

Yes. Business owners should be able to serve who they choose.

I've seen a movement to end "skill discrimination". There's a group that thinks someone shouldn't be discriminated against because they don't have the skills necessary for a job. They would like to see a welding company fined for turning down an applicant that doesn't know how to weld.

Only religious discrimination is allowed. You don't have to worry about them folks.

It should 100% be allowed as long as the business doesn't provide an essential service, like being the only hospital in a small town.

Well, maybe those dark people need to not live in that small town. Or open up their own hospital. They should've thought about that before having that heart attack.

What about a nonessential business that gets government money through either a contract for work or a loan? What about housing? BTW contrary to popular belief you are actually allowed to discriminate in housing as long as it's 4 units or less

A contract to do work is just that. You provide a service for the money you are paid. A loan is paid back with interest. Both are financial or business transactions.

Unless the right to tell you what to think or say is written into the contract, it should have nothing to do with it.

You really think people should not be allowed to eat in a restaurant just because of something like their race or nationality?

Sure you are. But maybe it's 3 units not 4.
