The average speed of an 8 year's old pitch is 40 mph(39-41) so have a 6 year old hit off of pitching machine isn't that out of line.

Hell yeah, cause little Travoniquarius, who throws that fast, too, can't control his placement as well as the machine. Took many a beanball at that age that hurt like a mofo.

We didn't do coach pitch from part. Think it was only if the matter walked so many in a row or something.

How shitty are 6 year old pitchers? The inability to get the ball over the plate is one reason why that's too young.

You're going to get a lot of people saying yes they need to learn ect....

But as a coach of multiple teams ages 7-12 I think 40mph at 6 is too fast. They are going to learn bad habits as many of them struggle just to swing that bat at that age.

They really should be in coaches pitch not machine, but if they are on a machine it should be more like 30 or 32, not 40. How far away is the machine?

We went from t-ball at 7 to regular baseball at 8, but you were beaned almost every game.

Sure they can for fun, machines don't really get much slower, but they also need to have people pitch slow to them.
