It would help if you told us what the hell you're talking about.

If its Pro-Marijuana, it will not make it in Louisiana if I was a betting man. Cop and Prison lobby is way too strong.

Either LA or AL, can't remember, would have the highest amount of imprisonment per capita of ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD if they were independent countries.

The Louisiana Legislature legalized marijuana for medical purposes in 1991, but there's no mechanism in current law that allows for the legal dispensing of the drug. Doctors can legally prescribe it, patients can legally use it, but they don't have a middleman. Senate Bill 143, sponsored by Sen. Fred Mills, R-New Iberia, gives legal authority to the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to set rules regulating a tightly constrained dispensary system.

Pretty sure its LA.

ETA:

Yep

867 per 100,000 and its not close

Its embarrassing for our state to be #1 on this list, much less by such a large margin.

Missouri won't be passing it either.

Bible Belt of State have total control of house and senate. And since they can override the Governors vetos and have enough to do it, it aint happening.

Burning desire for personal liberty is my ailment. And a bad case of wanting people to wake up and stop demonizing a plant that isn't addictive and certainly isn't a schedule 1 narcotic. Categorize it the same as alcohol. 21 to buy and ingest, can't do it while you drive, etc. Tax it and use the revenue for the school system or to relieve other taxes to create more spending money for the average citizen.

Its certainly less harmful, addictive, and destructive of lives than alcohol.

It will go to the Senate floor first.

Who also owns a pharmacy...

I believe it should be legal, even for recreational use, but just wanted to point out the fact that Mills has a vested interest.
