This place in time is very strange. These types of statements make it easy to disregard or dismiss these obviously, legitimately crazy people - but it would be a fatal mistake to ignore them. They constitute the most robust voice of the left and the Democrat party in the United States - and they were a handful of votes from being in charge.

Think about that for a second...

How the hell are racism, native rights, immigration, sexism, and phobias "scientific issues"?

These are, literally, all social issues.

I work in the biological sciences, and it saddens me how many of my colleagues try to tie this crap to our work.
