Saturday I received a letter in the mail from "Department of Negotiations". The letter starts off claiming it recently settled accounts with companies like JP Morgan, Chase and other major banks. Then goes on to inform me that failure to call and make minimum monthly payments will result in interest going up to unreasonable rates. That pretty much let me know they have no idea if I have credit balances or not, but just in case I searched online and found this link.

Although I have a landline in the house, I never answer it. If someone wants to get in touch with me they will call my cell phone, however; the majority of the landline calls are from marketing research companies or bullshite names that always shows its from out of state, but a few weeks ago I received a call from my number, googled "calls from own number" and came across this link.

Just in case anyone else gets one of these letters or phone calls I posted this just as a FYI, but does anyone else have scam information or stories they can share?

Awhile back, somehow some prince got my email address, emailed me and pretty much told me if I send him a certain amount he could flip it for me & then send me at least 10 times more than the money I would send him. It was only like $5000 and that was over a month ago so I should get my money in the next few days. I know its legit because he is a prince. Why would a prince send me an email like that? He doesn't have to scam anyone.

I get a call on my cell atleast once a week with a recorded message saying something about my current credit card. These calls have been 225 area code, one of which I called back and this guy had no idea what I was talking about. He was from BR and somehow they used his # as caller ID. So one day I decided to listen in on what this company wanted and was connected to an Indian I believe. He wanted my card # and other info which I falsified. I wanted to see how far it'd go but try to get info from him as well. He said his name was David Benson which I assume is an alias. I asked how he got my # and he said he could not disclose that information. I then asked them to put me on the do not call list and he said he could not do that and hung up. To this day I keep getting these calls from 225 and I can't get them to stop. They use different #s each time too.
