Reading a story about some Trump supporters still adhering to this line of thought.

Weren't there some posters on here that thought it was all a lie?

If so, what the hell is wrong with you?

Met a SH truther at the bulldog a year ago. She wholeheartedly believes that Obama & the CIA made up the entire incident.

Yes! I'm totally fine with all the political talk on here on both sides - people see life through their own lenses, but Sandy Hook truthers need to be committed/medicated/beaten with shovels.

I could maybe MAAAAAYBE see how a "conspiracy" could've existed if Sandy Hook was a turning point - if guns were outlawed the next day. But nothing happened except ammo & gun manufacturers had their best sales in YEARS.

They're up there, but I think the people that actually shoot up schools are a good bit worse.

Just my opinion

As bad as the 9/11 was a Bush masterplan "truthers". People look for stories to fit their beliefs.

There is a lot of stuff about that story the way it was portrayed in the media that didn't make any sense. However, I attribute that more to the shittiness of the media than to some grand conspiracy.

However, I will say this, it felt like the government and media had a plan in place to exploit a tragedy like Sandy Hook to push an agenda, so their rapid politicalization of the story led many people to think it had been a planned "false flag" event. However, I think the response by the government and the media was more or less planned, but the actual shooting was not. The government and media just had a plan in case a tragedy of that type occurred so they could immediately react to it and push the desired agenda.

I find it interesting you pointed out it was "Trump supporters" adhering to this absurd notion. Do these "truthers" represent a majority, or even a sizable portion of Trump supporters? Are all Sandy Hook "truthers" Trump supporters? If not, what portion of them are Trump supporters? How many of them support other candidates? And what has Trump said about this? Is he a Sandy Hook "truther"?

I ask these questions because I'm trying to see how all this ties to Trump or those who support him.

people like to believe in conspiracy theories because it makes them feel like an elitist

like they know something that the common person does not

its mostly low IQ, low self esteem people that have nothing else to offer

Of course not.

I'd imagine they are resoundingly dominated by their political support for Trump.

ETA: Not all Trump supporters are "truthers", but all "truthers" are Trump supporters.
