We are touring the Winchester House, then figured we may as well catch the San Jose Giants game that night.
Walking is no issue. I'm a fan of taking pictures, so Twin Peaks sounds good.
What all is there to do in the neighborhoods? Unique food? I assume architecture is pretty cool.
We will also have to drive down Lombard's crooked parts.

Drive down Lombard St.
Check out Muir Woods a few minutes north of the GGB. If you've never seen a redwood in person, it's impressive.
The View (bar on the top floor of the Marriott Marquis) has amazing views of the city, hence the name. Great place for drinks.

Never been to Chicago?
Chicago is far cleaner than both.
I love both SF and NO, but one thing Chicago does well is cleanliness. I think it's the cleanest major city in America.

Yea everywhere I went in Chicago was very nice. Granted I never made it to the south side

SF >>>> NOLA and this shouldn't be an argument.
It's my favorite city in the world and I've been all over this bitch.

The seal shite smell is horrible in SF. It's worse than anything I've smelled in NO. If you like the smell of rotting smelt you'll love SF.

I don't get all the hate for new Orleans. Most major cities are more disgusting and trashier.
The reason for "all the hate" for New Orleans is because of the city's low-life character and the disgusting attitudes of the residents. I have never in my life witnessed a higher concentration of low-life degenerates and reprobates anywhere in the world that compares to that of New Orleans.
The people and character of the place is what makes the place a disgusting hell hole, and the infrastructure and unsanitary conditions are by-products of such residents.

seems like there's something you'd like to get off of your chest, don't hold back, let it out, this is a friendly place

San Francisco's biggest problem to me is the techie gentrification of it. It's losing a lot of it's soul and becoming a playground for young, rich tech workers.
That's not a problem IMO. My good friend bought a 1000 sq ft apartment there last month for $1,000,000 and before he even moved in his realtor came to him and said she had someone willing to give him $1,200,000 for it! He didn't take it because he loves the place but damn that is a crazy real estate market. When you have people with that much money taking over the city it is only going to make it a nicer place.

I love it when hear all the hate for N.O. Just stay far away then, and let the rest of us enjoy a great city without all the out of towners pissing & vomiting all over the place. Last time I saw something truly gross & disgusting was that pic of a female bama fan taking a shite in a potted plant in a hotel lobby. And it seems Travel & Leisure, one of the top traveling mags, likes N.O. plenty enough as the city was ranked #1 in its latest poll of great cities to visit. And, as an aside, while liking San Fran a lot, Nancy Polici (?) has been re-elected by a landslide over & over again.

Not really. Where do your police, teachers, sanitary workers, baristas and dry cleaner live? Once the housing market gets that top heavy balance is disrupted. It is truly a housing crisis here. Not enough supply and average corporations/municipalities can't afford to pay enough to keep employees. I make an asinine amount of money here and cannot compete in the housing market. Thank you chinese investors and google!

But--sadly--Oakland gonna Oakland as they say.
Right....SF is so superior in cleanliness and bums to Oakland. One lunch in Oaktown must have truly given you an in depth knowledge of the East Bay....

San Francisco is way cleaner, safer, attractive, exciting, nicer and enjoyable than New Orleans.

In fact, I lived in San Francisco on two separate occasions back in the 1980s. I was not exactly a stranger to the East Bay, making regular trips to the city to watch A's baseball, visit a friend who lived in town, and hang out in Berkeley among other things. To this day I keep informed on the city by reading the Trib online once or twice a week. I am far more acquainted with the city than a single lunch meeting.
You have a fondness for Oakland that I respect, but you can't overlook the city's serious problems and be credible with me. Crime, poverty, gangs and unemployment have long plagued the city, and transformation, so far as I can see, remains elusive to say the least.

I visited Philly for the first time back in March - I was surprised how dirty everything was - graffiti on everything and I've never seen so much trash on the side of an interstate (to be fair, the snow had just melted. So maybe that's where all the trash came from.). After that visit, I felt a lot better about Louisiana, because I've always heard that the South was dirtier than the North.

that has to be the graffiti capital of the U.S., it's everywhere and although I'm not into that, there's some talent up there

You have obviously never been to Jackson or Cass Counties in Missouri. The KC area is thriving and experiencing a tech boom at the moment. The only shitty place in Missouri is the hood area of St. Louis and a couple of the Ozark towns, although the Ozark towns in southern Mizzou are getting gentrified by wealthy retirees.
Missouri was heavily settled by Germans, so the place will always be generally clean and productive.
