I think you're onto something here. I've noticed in any thread Dealing with international affairs they seem incapable of looking at matters from a logical standpoint and instead figuratively close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears and just start repeating "everything's OK". It's like they refuse to see how dangerous the world is becoming and how we face real challenges and dangers from countries like Russia and China. I think this inability or unwillingness to accept the world for how it really is stems from how they were coddled growing up. They have been sheltered and pampered to the point that when things are bad, they simply shut down.
