Note that I said this was the official party line. The truth though was far different. Basically once the Red Army crossed into Poland and then started making its way to Berlin and Central Germany, they cut a swath of rape, murder, and pilliage that Would have amazed Gengis Khan himself.

I remember reading one account where Soviet soldiers entered a home of an older man and woman. The soldiers took the wife into the bedroom and for hours they raped her one after another. When nightfall came they forced the husband to go stand next to the bed holding up a lantern so they could have light to keep raping her by.

Now imaging things like that (and even worse) being repeated a few million times over.

I've read the same thing, except that the guy had more than one wristwatch. It seems like in the unaltered photo he had three or four on.

I'm guessing you've not read much about the Eastern Front in 1944-45 then.

They should go all out in reliving the glory days of the USSR and have many of the children arbitrarily thrown into Gulag slave labor camps on fake charges of treason or disloyalty to the regime.
