Is this the beginning of something bigger since they are supporters of Assad while our illustrious leader wants him gone? Just what will our admin do?? The tension is nerve racking!

Proxy war that the USA is losing to Putin and Russia. Russia also set up complex air defense missile system in Syria in the "fight against ISIS" even though ISIS doesn't own a plane lol.

No they didn't. They asked. And we said no.

"If you have forces in the area we request they leave," said the general, who used the word "please" in the contentious encounter.

A senior Pentagon official said the U.S., which also has been conducting airstrikes against ISIS, but does not support Assad, said the request was not honored.

"We still conducted our normal strike operations in Syria today," the official said. "We did not and have not changed our operations."

I don't see a demand, I see a request.

If the US can enter a foreign country and occupy it, bomb it, and do whatever the hell it pleases, why are we worried when another world power does it? Technically, Russia is not doing anything they didn't see the US do first.

If they are fighting ISIS then good on them.

Sounds more like they were warning us to get out of Dodge so we don't get caught in the crossfire.

Not a fan of Putin but good on him for this. Let a different team be World Police for once.

Oh, the spin is going to be entertaining.

Here we are fighting an "enemy" wink wink and we are getting "help" from a powerful nation.
Here's what I'll be interested in reading the spin on in the coming weeks....

1. What will be the reason the U.S. refuses to cooperate with Russia in fighting the "common enemy?"

2. With two powers fighting a band of thugs, what will be the spin as to why we still can't defeat them?

3. OR will ISIS be "defeated" and what will be the excuse to remain in Syria for both the U.S. AND Russia?

The chess match is on....

If by "complex air defense system" you mean something capable of detecting a biplane with a suicide bomber strapped to a wing, I agree.

Nothing they've set up would prevent the US from bombing the piss out of them.

LOL@ Russia's tech.
