Russia is NOT the enemy (at least not in this instance)

Is Vladimir Putin a strong man? Sure. But given the demographics and history of that country that's what has always been needed to rule Russia. You need context when understanding Putin. Ask Napoleon about Russians. Ask the Germans about Russians. Obama wouldn't make it to the city council in St. Petersburg. The climate alone produces a harsh mentality. Putin ain't no Bernie Sanders sociliast.

Right now, Russia is our greatest ally (militarily) in the war against a foul ideology that is anti Western. Even during the Cold War we had rules of engagement. We weren't dealing with savages and barbarians. Sure today they want to pretend they're in competition with us and the old spooks love to get the war stories going but I don't remember the Russians burning Christians in the street.
