Say a fine fellow wanted to get dropped off at the fairgrounds to watch/bet the Bellmont Stakes at 5:30ish, then watch the LSU baseball game afterwards somewhere downtown while consuming multiple cocktails. Then needs a 1 hour cab ride back across the lake after midnight.

How much are we talking?

Getting a hotel room is not out of the question, but I have a free bed back in Abita Springs. Just weighing my options.

My estimate is that it will be a very bumpy ride.

My sister in law just booked a room downtown Saturday night for $108, a cab ride will be more than that.

Make a swim for it.

I'm surprised Lake P doesn't have a water taxi.

According to TaxiFareFinder, it will be about $108 one way.

Personally, I think it will be way more, and most taxis in NOLA will tell you to go frick yourself.

I take it back, Lyft comes in slightly cheaper than Uber with a fare estimate of 52-$58 from Nola to Abita Springs.

my buddy took a uber from the Southern Hotel to the dome and back I think it was $50-60 each way so that Lyft estimate sounds right.

I don't care about the rating, I've stayed in some shite holes before. I just don't know if it's worth risking my life.

If I was the driver I wouldn't do it. lose money on time spent getting back to civilization

For new years eve I once used the free taxi from quarter to jeff parish line.
then used jeff parish system to get back to truck parked by st Charles parish line. only had to drive drunk 1 mile
