Reupholstering furniture...

Anyone ever been successful? Hard to do?

I redid some chair seats a while back....honestly, no harder than wrapping a christmas present...

all I needed was some fabric, a staple gun, and a knife...

I did this too. Very easy. Really depends on the furniture.

My wife does some re-upholstery. She's good at it but hates it. Very labor-intensive work. Harder if it has a lot of tufts and piping. It helps if you can carefully remove the old pieces one by one, keep them in tact and take pictures as you remove each piece. You can use the old pieces as patterns for the new material and use the pictures to re-assemble the piece in reverse order. Air-compression staple gun will be your best friend.
