It's really nice to look at and dream I made that much money in 2015 but don't want this tax bill.
Anyone ever have this happen to them?

I had someone send me 2 W-2s for the same earnings one year. When the IRS contacted me years later, I explained the mistake. They investigated and they agreed it was a duplicate.
If it is a double posting of wages on a single W-2, then contact the employer by certified mail, return receipt requested. Keep documentation of all correspondence.
Even though the employer sends a new W-2, they may not be able to retract the first one sent to the IRS. Keep any letters from the employer stating they sent an erroneous W-2. Request a statement in writing that it was the employers mistake. Have the letter contain the erroneous amount and the corrected amount. No matter what happens, it will be your responsibility to prove to the IRS how much you earned that year. Get things in writing immediately!!!
It may be a year or more before the IRS reviews their records and sees multiple W-2s that need explaining away. They will need official documentation.
