I have gone to HD and Lowe's and unfortunately, they do not have the color option I am looking for (only white or black seals and white or brown for weatherstripping).

Looking for a local option in Baton Rouge area, as in local door supply company. I am in need of a creme color and I would prefer the door seals to "slide in place" via a tongue and groove installation - the bottoms of my doors have cut-outs to accept door seals and "lock" in place.

Suggestions?

Go to an actual Door Shop. HD and Lowes only carry what they carry. A shop that actually pre-hangs doors will at least be able to order what you need.

I can't help answer your question, Cover, but I need to replace my seals too. Can they be replaced without taking door off hinges?

Good luck! I assume these are steel doors? Seems like the door manufacturers use proprietary systems for these things so you may have to get them straight from the door manufacturer OR modify the door you have to accept some other type.

I went thru this several years ago also. Never found a compatible seal.

Based on a quick Google of what's available in Baton Rouge, I would try Holmes Building Materials.

Sometimes you can slide them out, but most of the time you have to remove the hinge pins and lay it on some horses to work on the sweep.

I popped the hinge pin off the top and middle. And then I actually had to unscrew the bottom hinge (left pin in) to remove the door - the bottom was too low to the ground in order for me to use a hammer and screwdriver - couldn't get enough force behind my "strikes."

Door is fairly heavy. I'll go about this next time with another person to help me guide the door back on the hinge.

I'll give them a shot. I think the owner's name is actually John.

I'm OCD, but even I'm not OCD enough to care whether my weatherstripping matches.

Then the length of weatherstripping you need won't be a problem.

I normally wouldn't be either, but my doors are a creme color and the bright white really stands on the door seal - it wraps around the bottom of the door and sticks up from the bottom about 2 inches.

Almost like an endless supply. Probably expands too when it gets warmer.

You might try to use another type seal. I used the king that fit in grooves on bottom of door and nailed in place with 3-4 small nails. Doesn't show on bottom edges of door then

Ive replaced some (slide in the groove kind) and have never had to remove the door. If the old one doesn't slide right out by hand grab it with a pliers. Simple.
