It should be covered in plastic.

We have one aunt who has no respect for the furniture at all. She puts her feet on them and curls up to eat.

Eating her Thanksgiving dinner in the back yard out of the dog's bowl may be just the hint she needs. As this is kind of extreme, you may want to roll up a newspaper and swat her a few times first.

Just make sure she understands why she is getting punished. She may correct her own behavior before never returning to your house.

Good luck,

Usually I just tell people how things are and they listen. You must have a trashy family.

There are seriously 2 days a year you're supposed to eat at the good dining table. What was she saving it for when the Queen comes over or what?

Did you communicate these expectations? If so, and they refuse, kick them out. Or if you never explained your expectations, you're a whining pussy, either way Its really not that difficult.

There's so much food you have to use the sectional paper plates. The hell with washing dishes. I have wine and whiskey to drink!

How hard is it not to eat on the formal sofa or not putting plates in the dishwasher to name a few. As host do you call them out or just let it ride?

We were at my wife's brother's house for thanksgiving and he started bitching about this stuff.

We were outside in his driveway and he was acting like a huge jerk about nitpicky stuff. I beat the shite out of him for being such a baby. He went down like a sack of shite, it was almost like he hadn't fought since the fourth grade.

When her side of the family is there they use that table . If my bro has some of his family over its not be used. She doesn't make the money,my bro. Is the bread winner. He puts up with her behavior because she has threatened divorce, he can't see himself not being with his kids everyday.

If these people were here for JUST one day that would be fine. They're here for a week plus. Clean up after yourselves.

Did you provide alternative seating?
What's a formal couch? Formal as opposed to what?
