Just got my oil changed and they handed me a list of recommended services.

Transmission
Tune up
Cabin air filter
Full service
Injector cleaner

All DUE NOW. Of course the price “varies” for each service and they said they’d have to get me a quote.

I always feel like an irresponsible car owner when I ignore these recommendations, but my car is at 155k miles and I’ve only done routine oil changes tires replacement/rotations. Had a brake job once at 80k miles.

My optometrist does this sh*t - pimping titanium frames and glazed lenses and such.

I listen politely and then get what I came for - a pair of affordable glasses.

Some of them are pretty easy to do yourself if you are mechanically inclined. Your cabin air filter is isually behind the glove box, Sea Foam thru the air intake will clean your fuel injectors. Spark plugs and new wires are simple unless you have a Ford. If that the case get out your checkbook.

I change my fluids myself (oil and transmission) regularly. Cabin air filter too, you'd be surprised how dirty they get.

Everything else is a 'If it's not broke' policy
