Considering it. Not sure if necessary or if I would need a referral from regular gyno.

Current gyno and hospital radiologist really dropped the ball with my mother and an incorrect diagnosis of ovarian cancer. I can't see myself going to this dr again, or the hospital. I think Tulane and/or ochsner would provide me with an exponentially better dr and medical care for the future. I don't mind making the trip once a year for an annual check up knowing I am in much better care than my local options.

My sister has a pretty rare blood disease and sees Dr. Lisa Bazzett at Ochsner. She specializes in gyn-oncology/hematology.
She's been great.

Thank you! This may be perfect seeing as though my mother was just diagnosed with lymphoma.

Do you happen to know if I would need a referral to see her?

This may also depend on your insurance.

You absolutely need a Gyn-Onc. If your family member has an established cancer diagnosis, chances are she won't need a referral from a general Ob/Gyn. I'm a generalist - do both Ob and Gyn, complex surgeries involving malignancies belong in the hands of a Gyn-Onc.

I'd recommend my wife's doctor but then there'd be just two degrees of separation between your vagina and my wife's and that's too weird.
