On average my basset craps about 3 times a day, sometimes multiple times during a single trip, and usually yields yuge piles. I don't think Rachel Ray's going to cut it anymore. What are some premium brands that won't go through him so much/quickly?

Fromms is what my dog eats, it's really high quality as he has a very sensitive stomach, they have grain free and gluten free if needed.

Not sure if you can get it in LA it's a TX brand

Try something radical like feeding it less.

How long do you leave his food out? If all day, stop.

Only feed him in the morning and in the evening. Leave it out for 15 minutes. If he doesn't eat, pick it up. Feed him at next feeding time. He'll get the hint.

Plus you'll be able to control when he has to shite.

I feed my dogs Taste of the Wild Grain Free Salmon. I can almost give you their schedule as to when they shite.

I shite you not.

I got two of them shitting 3-4 fat loafs a day. So much work picking that shite up. One of them tries to help and usually eats the other one's shite

My Doberman doesn't like to get her feet wet in the morning or after a rain storm.

So what does she do? She shits and pisses on the concrete either in my drive way or in my garage.

Guess it's better than in the house ...

Will Cover said it best.
We feed our GSD once at night. If she doesn't eat it, we remove it. She got the hint and eats her food now. Hi-tek lamb and sweet potato. She poops twice a day, 7am and 6pm. Clock work everyday

Why are you letting that dog run your life? He'd be eating that shite off the concrete.

I'm surprised OP didn't refer to the dog as his "fur baby".

I use the same food for my doberman. Mine is extremely food motivated, and will finish his bowl in under 5 minutes. He is also the same way with wet grass in the morning. He will pee on the back porch if we dont catch him, but he has only shite on it a handful of times when he was younger. He musters up the courage to get his paws wet and shits in the grass just off the porch.

Fromm Family is high quality stuff and my dog has always tolerated it well - he is a 80 lb GSD - 18 mos old and poops twice a day. Fromm is actually a Wisconsin brand, and you can definitely get it in Louisiana. I would try a grain free version.

We use Lone Star premium 24% protein. Solves that problem. About $30 for 50lbs. We have had as many as 80 hounds at a time. If you use crap like ole Roy or pedigree they crap 100lbs for every 50 lbs you feed
