Anyone here own a Corgi and can make a recommendation on a breeder? Trying to find a legit breeder who cares about the breed instead of one of those puppy mill type places.

Why not just adopt and save a life?

All the dog breeds out there and you want a Corgi? Might as well get a cat....

Adopt a real dog, homo.

We did the breeder thing twice (chocolate labs) and both dogs had health issues. Have adopted the two dogs we have now. A full blooded yellow lab and a mutt terrier/lab mix. Both awesome dogs and did not pay a penny to adopt.

Too many good dogs out there needing adoption. We will never buy from a breeder again.

One of the wife's best friends is on her second Corgi.

The first was smart & wonderful, out of Tennessee I think.

The second was out of a trailer house puppy mill in central Alabama and exactly what you'd think of being out of central Alabama.

Sorry I don't know the breeder's names or better locales on them.

Not an archetypical male's dog breed though...

Because I don't have to adopt and I want to get one from a good pedigree and lower the risk for expensive health issues.

Glad not everyone in here is ignunt. I live in Dallas - I don't need to get a lab like every other original person in the south. Getting my wife a dog she wants. Corgis are good dogs, looking for a breeder.

They usually are good dogs, that's true.

I've been around six or eight and a couple were bat crazy, the others were good to wonderful.

Corgi's fricking own, dude. I have a rescued corgi mix and she's one of the biggest alpha dogs I've ever encountered. Keeps me endlessly entertained. I'd rather have a corgi with an awesome , smart personality than a stinky, stupid chocolate lab just so I can fit in with my baws.

Yeah retard - a highly reputable breeder who does the proper due diligence and puts in the time to breed responsibly, and can show evidence of a good pedigree will help lower the risk that the dog will have health issues that careless breeders might disregard. At least two of the breeders I have seen evaluate hereditary illnesses before letting the dog go to its permanent home - and have a 1 year health guarantee.

My only exposure was this one example.

I wouldn't want one dog to speak for the whole breed, so I'll take your word for it.
