And provide a brief description of what it is and why you recommend it. I've got a hankering for some passive learning. Bonus points if it's on Netflix or Amazon prime.

Choose any PBS doc. You can't go wrong.
Invisible Universe Revealed is one of my favorites on there. It's about the Hubble Telescope.
Anything on PBS is freaking money.

Restrepo and Korengal are both on Netflix. I enjoyed them both. They are about an area in Afghanistan and a US Army outpost there.

"Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room," on Netflix is a great behind the scenes look into the scandal

The Men Who Built America. Never heard of this series until today, and ended up watching it for hours. I believe it was on the history channel. If gives the history of business tycoons such as Rockefeller, Carnegie, Ford and JP Morgan. Very interesting.
