Recommend a decent GPS watch

Looking to get a watch to better track my running. I almost pulled the trigger on a Garmin Forerunner 15 with heart rate monitor (~$150), but started seeing all the other options and just want to get the best bang for the buck. Don't need a $400 watch. But would like to track hear rate, distance, pace, etc.. Wouldn't be terrible to have something that would pull double/triple duty on bike rides and swims either.

from what I've read the fitbit does all that

I'm getting the Forerunner 225 for Christmas. I think it's around $230 on amazon. Accurately does heart rate directly from your wrist, GPS is reliable and it doesn't look like shite like some gps watches

I love my Garmin 210 ... 220 wasn't out at the time. The 225 has a heart rate monitor but doesn't require the strap. The soft strap doesn't bother me and I wonder about the accuracy of it without a strap.
If you want one that's a triple duty, the 910 is the mac daddy (or was .. not sure if there's a new model) but you could likely find a refurbished 310xt.

I love Garmin ... the website lets you compare models side by side.
And for reviews I really like DC Rainmaker ... google it. His reviews are worth reading.

After a little more research last night, looks like I'll be holding out for the Garmin 910x or 920x. Those things are bad arse. Was going to eventually get a computer for my bike at ~$300 to pair with a power meter (which is another far in the future purchase), but both of these watches have all that capability. Only thing I'd sacrifice is a larger screen. Plus the indoor pool settings that automatically measure laps and rest periods seems awesome. You can program a training session and it will keep you on track. The running features are now the least interesting thing to me . But I just dropped way too much cash on a new bike, so the $450+ price tag will have to wait.

What bike? How do you not already have a Garmin 810 or 1000?

A felt b12. Was eyeing up a garmin 520 for the bike for gps, cadence, speed, and heart rate. Then was going to get a power meter in a year or so to pair with it. Thought I'd get a cheap watch to do my runs and swims. But then I'm seeing that these watches capture almost everything the cyclo computer does (even pairs with power meter). Only thing I see that I lose is the bigger gps screen (which is low on my list). Can also get mounts for watch on bike so I don't have to look at my wrist to get info.
All that plus a lot of info for the other two workouts I'd be doing.

I use the Garmin forerunner 220 and recommend it. There are updated versions - check out their website - everything syncs to your phone - very easy to set up.
